Termessos Ancient City
The legendary 'Eagle's Nest' neighboring the clouds on the peaks of the Taurus, which even Alexander the Great could not conquer.
History and Architecture
Termessos is one of the best-preserved ancient cities in Turkey. It was founded 1050 meters above sea level on the steep rocks of Gulluk Mountain. Built by the Solyms, indigenous people of Anatolia, this city resisted Alexander the Great's siege in 333 BC and was never conquered thanks to its strategic location. With its rugged nature, theater, and necropolises, it offers visitors a wild and fascinating atmosphere.
