History and Architecture
Aspendos is an ancient city located in the Serik district of Antalya. Founded in the 10th century BC by Argive colonists, it became one of the wealthiest cities of the ancient world. Its massive theater, built by the Roman architect Zenon in the 2nd century AD, still hosts events today with its 15,000-seat capacity and flawless acoustics. The city's aqueduct system represents the pinnacle of ancient engineering.
